Tonight we were playing around with the Fetal Doppler heart monitor. We hooked it up to the computer to record Caroline’s heart beat. She was moving and grooving. She also likes to kick the monitor. This recording has a good heart beat but you may want to turn down your speaker volume cause when she kicks it can sound a little like a screech but that is how you know she is kicking.
Below is a link to download the audio. Also we have included a player below but you will have to have flash to play it. You may receive a yellow warning at the top of your browser you will need to click it and run the active X.
I know it has been a while since our last update but between getting ready to go out of town, scheduling everything, work and life in general things have been good but busy. Caroline and I passed our glucose test with flying colors last week, we have a class and walk through at the hospital this weekend and and we are excited to visit Houston. My recent baby bump pic is below for all of you curious about my new size which I am still getting used to.
Horizontal stripes are not a good look when you are this big!
On a special note to Lonnie, Stephanie, Caleb and Baby R: We are sorry we couldn’t make it to the baby shower to celebrate with all of you but we hope you have a wonderful time with lots of love and laughter. We send our love and will see you soon!

You should all check out the cool pictures on Lonnie and Steph’s blog of my nephew. These are really cool 4D ultrasound photos. We are planning to do a 3/4D ultrasound as well. I am so happy for Lonnie, Steph, and Caleb. Apparently, Caleb was thrilled he got to go see the 4D ultrasound with them. That must have been a really exciting experience for him. I know he is excited about his little brother. Now it looks like he is going to not only get a little brother but baby girl cousin as well. I can’t wait until they get to meet. Well check out the pics and give Lonnie, Steph and Caleb a congrats! We love you Baby Boy C. Can’t wait to meet you!!
Well We finally have some new ultrasound pictures for y’all. As many of you have already heard by now… its official we are having a baby girl. Very exciting, yet a little scary for daddy at least. Looks like little boys better beware of Daddy. I Have already started development on the very first electronic chastity belt… I am thinking motion detectors that trigger 1200 volt taser electrodes… that sounds good. Like I said it is still in the developmental phase.
Well we have lots of good pictures from the ultrasound. The baby was moving around just as she was told. I had a short pep-talk with her before the appointment and it appears she is already listening to daddy. Thank God! We have a few that show she is really a girl. Sorry, those will not be seen by anyone! Especially not going to be posted on the web, so you will just have to take our word for it. Enjoy!
This picture is supposed the face and skeleton structure of the head. It is referred to as the spooky face. Because it looks like a ghost.
This is a nice picture of the baby’s profile. It also shows the heart which is the black spot on the chest. It is better when you can see the heart beating.
Baby girl was not cooperating for this shot apparently she like to place her face into mommy’s belly.
Here is a great picture of those strong legs. I am thinking girls soccer or maybe volleyball.
She is our little thinking baby. She had her hand rested on her chin in this picture.
One of the cutest little feet ever.
This picture is bigger than the rest of the profile pictures you will have to click on it to see what I mean. Really good profile picture.
This is another large picture you need to click on to see it better.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. We are very excited. We will keep you posted as we get new information.
This week one of the most amazing things happened…I felt the baby move! Unfortunately, it is a little early for Nathan to be able to experience this with me but the movement is strong and often so I am sure the baby wont waste any time making his or her presence known to daddy. Yesterday while trying to get a bpm read the doctor took a good 2-3 min trying to chase down the little one probably because he or she was taking part in all events baby Olympics has to offer in that small space. The heart beat was strong at 155bpm and the doctor said all seems to be going well and right on track. We should receive our test results back next week on the baby’s brain and spinal development and our sex of the baby ultrasound is Dec 29th so check back often for updates.
We went in for a general doctor appt on Thursday. Everything went well and the baby’s heartbeat was around 150 bpm which is really good. We went over some of our questions, met the doctor who will hopefully deliver the baby (given labor is on a weekday during the day or a time when she is on call) and scheduled our next appointments. We have an appointment to do some more routine testing in 4 weeks and the u/s to tell the sex of the baby 2 weeks after that, Dec 29th, what a Christmas present!
We did our first trimester screening last week which assess the risk for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18 via an ultrasound and maternal blood test. We received the call today that the test results came back negative and so far the baby is doing very well. Nathan and I had a great deal of faith both would come back negative but it is a huge relief to have the confirmation.
